Our Line Guides

The Original Big Bear rod features Pac Bay Minima guides with chromed frames and stainless steel rings.  A double foot size 8 stripper guide, a single foot size 7 transition guide, and size 6 running guides and a tip combination reduces the maximum amount of weight a standard guide set up would normally have.  

The Big Bear Pro series guide layout features a size 7 zirconium stripper guide, size 6 REC titanium recoil running guides and is followed by a size 6 zirconium tip.  Titanium guides are the lightest guides made and the reduction in weight creates the lightest Big Bear rod available.

The Big Bear Micro series features Pac Bay Minima guides with chromed frames and stainless steel rings.  A double foot size 6 stripper guide, a single foot size 5 transition guide, and size 4 running guides and tip combination creates a slightly lighter rod then the Original Big Bear series.  Our micro guides are larger then conventional micro guides and are easier to see and will allow for leader knots to pass through.

New for 2016, All Big Bear Spinning rods will feature American Tackle stamped metal Air Wave guides.  This new wave system is lighter the conventional spinning rod guide layouts and will increase your casting distance.  A size 20 specially designed stripper guide quickly cinches down the line for the size 7 transition guide and is followed with size 5 running guides and a tip.
